WHY VISIT VENICE IN SPRING?

In spring, Venice regains its luminous grace and the lagoon takes on a softer rhythm. Pleasant temperatures, longer days and golden reflections on the canals invite leisurely wandering between quiet alleyways and sunlit terraces. From May 9 onwards, the cultural scene gathers momentum with the Venice Art Biennale, a major event in contemporary art. Running until November 22nd, it offers the
perfect opportunity to combine Venetian romance with major artistic discoveries. This year, a pavilion is dedicated to Morocco and showcases the work of artist Amina Agueznay.

• Explore St Mark’s Square and Basilica, the spiritual heart of Venice, and admire its golden Byzantine mosaics, a testament to the splendour and power of the Venetian Republic.
• Visit the Doge’s Palace to discover the refinement of La Serenissima, through monumental halls, grand frescoes and historic prisons.
• Glide along the Grand Canal in a gondola, pass beneath the Rialto Bridge and experience Venice from the water in a peaceful, timeless atmosphere.
• Sail to Murano, Burano and Torcello to explore the art of glassmaking, colourful houses, lace traditions and the origins of the Venetian lagoon.

• Wander through the Rialto Market to sample fish, fruit and local produce in a lively and authentic atmosphere, then continue through Venice’s six historic districts, each with its own distinct character.
• Linger in a historic café such as the iconic Caffè Florian or Gran Caffè Quadri.
• Enjoy an evening at La Fenice, the city’s grand opera house, or listen to Vivaldi in the church of Santa Maria della Pietà, where his compositions once resonated.
