Renowned for the richness of its architectural heritage, the Fez–Meknes region also stands out for its four outstanding golf courses: the Royal Golf of Fez and Oued Fez Golf, both 18-hole courses, the Royal Golf of Meknes, a nine-hole course, and the Michlifen Golf & Country Club, which extends across 120 hectares in the heart of the Middle Atlas Mountains.

Royal Golf of Meknes, A Swing at the Foot of Imperial Ramparts

In Meknes, playing golf feels like a journey through history. Nestled in the heart of the imperial city, the Royal Golf of Meknes runs alongside majestic ochre ramparts where storks nest. Among orange trees, olive trees and palm groves, this nine-hole course unfolds its green fairways within the gardens of the former royal palace. A Moorish gate, set into the walls near the sixth green, leads directly to the Royal Palace. Here, every swing seems to echo with centuries of history and the heritage of the imperial city.

Michlifen Golf & Country Club

In Ifrane, perched at an altitude of 1,650 metres, this course, one of the last designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus, offers a rare experience. Fairways undulate through cedar forests and the rolling landscapes of the Middle Atlas, with sweeping views over the Azrou plain. The crisp air, deep silence and majestic scenery turn each hole into a true adventure. Between sporting challenge and natural wonder, playing at Michlifen is far more than a round of golf; it is an unforgettable escape at altitude.
