Born of a vision, the Hassan II Trophy is, above all, a story of passion. In 1971, the late King Hassan II, a great enthusiast of the game, envisioned a tournament that would reveal to the world Morocco’s elegance, art of living and ambition in golf. From its earliest editions, the game’s greatest players answered the call, establishing the tournament as one of the leading international competitions.
Since 1999, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the tournament has continued to grow in stature while remaining true to its heritage. Since 2002, under the presidency of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid at the head of the Hassan II Trophy Association, it has followed a steady path of development marked by key milestones. After joining the European Tour in 2010, it joined the PGA Tour Champions in 2023, confirming its status as a leading competition on the global stage.
To mark its fiftieth edition, sixty-six legends of golf, will gather from May 18th to 24th on the Red Course at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam. Attending the Hassan II Trophy is a singular experience, where the intensity of play meets emotion, the brilliance of exceptional champions and the beauty of a remarkable setting.
The winner of the Hassan II Trophy is awarded a one-of-a-kind trophy, the KHANJAR. This gold dagger, with its slender silhouette, delicately set with precious stones, was chosen by His Late Majesty King Hassan II. Each year since, master artisans have perpetuated this craftsmanship, shaping a piece that embodies elegance, nobility and character.
