Created in 1993 by the late King Hassan II, the Lalla Meryem Cup embodies a forward-looking vision for the game. Conceived from the outset as the women’s counterpart to the Hassan II Trophy, it has established itself as a tournament of excellence, held in the same week and on the same course at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.
Part of the Ladies European Tour since 2010, the Lalla Meryem Cup has become one of the circuit’s flagship events, bringing together the elite of international women’s golf. Great champions have shaped its history, from Laura Davies to Annika Sörenstam, alongside Suzann Pettersen, Charley Hull and Ariya Jutanugarn. In 2026, 132 players will further affirm the tournament’s global reach, as well as the growing prominence of women’s golf, particularly in Morocco.
Beyond the competition, the experience is truly unique. Between the intensity of play, the elegance of each gesture and the exceptional setting of the Blue Course designed by Robert Trent Jones, the Lalla Meryem Cup cultivates a refined art of living, where excellence, grace and refinement come together.
Presented to each winner, traditionally by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem, the Minaudière is far more than a trophy. This delicate handbag, crafted in gold and platinum and set with fine precious stones, embodies Moroccan elegance and craftsmanship. It celebrates victory with finesse, becoming, for each champion, an exceptional object where art, tradition and excellence meet.

On 20 May, the Green Course at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam will host the inaugural Pro-Am Hassan II Kids Cup by First Tee, bringing together nine teams pairing young talents from the First Tee Morocco programme with professional players from the PGA Tour Champions and the Ladies European Tour.
On the green, competition unfolds in an atmosphere that is at once playful and enriching. Alongside seasoned golfers, these young players are introduced to the demands of high-level performance, while sharing a unique experience shaped by learning, sharing, and a shared passion for the game.
Beyond the fairways, the initiative reflects a broader ambition. Under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, President of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation since 2018, the development of golf among young people is conceived as a driver of education and inclusion.
Introduced in Morocco in 2019, the First Tee programme has already reached several hundred young people aged 5 to 18, instilling through the practice of golf essential values such as respect, discipline, and self-confidence.
This first Kids Cup embodies the rise of a generation in motion and affirms Morocco’s ambition to make golf more than a sport: a true school of life for the future.
