From 5 to 8 February 2026, the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair, the world’s leading international fair dedicated to contemporary African art, returned to Marrakech. This year, the event has taken a new dimension: alongside the iconic La Mamounia, a second venue—DaDa Marrakech—hosted several leading galleries and international artists, confirming the fair’s continued growth and lasting success.

For its seventh Marrakech edition, 1-54 Marrakech brought together more than twenty galleries from Africa, Europe and North America. Eight Moroccan galleries entered into dialogue with new international participants from Montreal, Lusaka, Luanda, London and Tunis. The artists presented reflected the diversity and vitality of the continent, from Nigeria to South Africa, and from Tunisia to Ethiopia.

The 2026 edition across the city through a rich programme of museum exhibitions, special projects, openings and curated art walks, notably in Gu.liz, at the JAAL Riad Resort, MACAAL, the Yves Saint Laurent Museum Marrakech, and Le Monde des Arts de la Parure. More than a fair, it was a living, open and deeply international experience at the heart of the contemporary African art scene.
