MOROCCAN AEROSPACE : CHARTING A COURSE TOWARDS HIGH VALUE-ADDED GROWTH

From 27 March to 11 April 2026, the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc celebrated 35 years of an extraordinary adventure. In the vast expanse of the Moroccan desert, crews advanced without GPS, guided solely by a map and compass. Five stages structured this unique challenge, including two that each featured a night in complete autonomy. Here, endurance meets precision, and mental strength becomes a compass as essential as navigation itself.
Across the spectacular landscapes of southern Morocco, the rally revealed the strength of women, the spirit of teamwork and the drive to push beyond one’s limits, before culminating in a memorable and triumphant arrival on the shores of Essaouira.
This year, Royal Air Maroc is proud to support two of its own crew members in this adventure. We met them and gathered their impressions at the close of this exceptional experience.
Asma Mabrouk: I am a cabin crew manager at Royal Air Maroc, where I work with passion and dedication. My role is to ensure passenger safety while delivering a high-quality travel experience that reflects the airline’s values.
Salwa Jawab: I am a cabin crew manager at Royal Air Maroc, where I bring my energy and organisational skills to both the crew and our passengers. I am committed to making every flight smooth and enjoyable, ensuring that each journey reflects the airline’s standard of excellence.
Our complementarity and our strong team spirit. Having taken part in several sporting events such as trail races, marathons and climbs, we have learned to support one another, combine our strengths and remain composed in the face of challenges.
We wanted to experience a unique adventure that brings together personal challenge, teamwork and exploration. For us, this rally represents both a sporting and a human challenge, far from the usual paths, where each stage becomes an opportunity to test ourselves, support one another and create lasting memories.
We combined physical training through trail running, marathons and climbs with mental preparation, refining our strategy and strengthening our team cohesion in order to remain focused and responsive in the face of the unexpected.
It is the encounter with oneself and with others in an environment as demanding as the desert. Beyond navigation and technical challenges, what remains is resilience, the solidarity between crews and the absolute trust in one’s teammate, etched in memory. We laughed, we sometimes cried, but we never, ever gave up.The alchemy between us was complete.
Not the kilometres covered, nor the checkpoints reached, but the feeling of being exactly where we were meant to be, even when lost, even when exhausted.
We will remember the courage it took to take part, without knowing whether we were capable of it, and the bond that kept us going, even when everything seemed to tell us to stop.
We will also remember the encounters with these women who, sometimes without a word, simply through a smile, supported and encouraged us.
The desert did not teach us how to win. It taught us how to trust ourselves.
